Core Instructional Program

Bible

CBA aims to equip students with deep Biblical knowledge  that will guide them through their decisions in life. It is our goal to teach students a Biblical worldview through relevant, engaging lessons. Students at CBA take a Bible class each day, K-12 and chapel service once a week. In additional to Bible classes, teachers integrate Biblical worldview concepts into each content area.

English

Calvary Baptist seeks to enable students to communicate the gospel to others. The English language is one of the primary ways through which we do this. As Americans, an understanding of English is essential in interpreting the world and evaluating different perspectives. Through English, CBA equips students to enjoy the perspectives of others while enabling them to effectively communicate their own. By encouraging effective communication, CBA develops students that take time to evaluate and creatively present facts and opinions.

Math

CBA aims to teach the basic principles of mathematics within a biblical framework and worldview.  Humanly speaking, math develops practical skills for businesses, sciences, and other fields. It develops important character qualities for a Christian such as diligence, truth, orderliness, reason, and discipline.  Students will cultivate higher-order thinking skills through a variety of real-world mathematical scenarios using manipulatives, data analysis, and skill proficiency.

Science

Philosophy/Rationale:

CBA aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for living an industrious, successful, biblically centered life. In order to fully equip students, the science program aims to teach students not only facts about the world they live in, but also how to ask questions and seek answers about their world. While we do hope to give students knowledge, we are most invested in seeing students apply scientific principles to their lives. By encouraging questions now, it is our hope that students will grow to be lifelong learners – always seeking to learn something new. Students will learn through a variety of means, including hands-on experiments in order to practice these investigation skills.

Social Studies

Philosophies/Rationale:

CBA aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for living as an informed member of society. CBA students will be able to examine, and interpret history and apply lessons learned from historical events to current events through a biblical worldview. We desire CBA students to be informed citizens that can learn from history and can apply the lessons they learned to present day civics and their daily life. Students will learn through a variety of means, including hands on learning experiences, enriching videos and inspiring lectures.
